Polymesse 2024

1 Polymesse 2024 Polylectures Company directory Glossary Who is looking for whom Firmen A – M Firmen N – Z Start-ups Preface by the director The future of Switzerland depends on the successful transfer of knowledge to economy and society. This is the main task of a university, which is why ETH Zurich considers its graduates to be its crucial asset. Every year, over 2000 young people leave ETH with a Master's degree or a doctorate. And to show them the best options for starting a career and to enable them to make an informed decision, the VSETH organises the annual Polymesse. The fact that so many companies accept the invitation of our student association speaks both for the quality of our study degree programmes and for the initiative and commitment of our students. For both sides, students and companies, personal encounters are of central importance. The Polymesse provides an excellent framework for this. Our students get to know potential employers, benefit from the experiences of their employees who have already made the transition into the world of work, and the participating companies and organisations come into direct contact with our talents! The survey of university graduates on their employment and training situation one year after graduation clearly documents the fact that our graduates are in demand and are satisfied with their professional situation. The vast majority have found a qualified position in their field shortly after graduation. The statistics of recent years show that they have an excellent starting position even in a difficult labour market. The survey of the employment and training situation of our alumnae and alumni also confirms that the education at ETH Zurich is sound and future-oriented. All degree programmes are taught using state-of-the-art technical and scientific knowledge. Accordingly, the curricula and course content are constantly being adapted, and new degree programmes are also being created. We attach great importance to providing students with the basic knowledge and skills that guarantee a high degree of flexibility in the application of specialised knowledge and enable them to keep pace with the growth in knowledge. It is also important to us that our students acquire methodological, social and personal skills that enable them to reflect critically on themselves and their own actions and to take responsibility at work and in society. The ETH degree is recognised worldwide. Graduates of ETH Zurich therefore have many opportunities for employment and the best career prospects in a wide variety of fields in a rapidly changing world of work and research. I wish the company representatives and students at Polymesse 2024 many exciting and rewarding encounters! Günther Dissertori ETH Zürich / Markus Bertschi
