Here, we lead the way in developing, constructing, producing, and testing highly digitilized compressors, which reach outlet pressures of up to 1,000 bar. This machinery plays a pivotal role in crucial industrial processes within the energy and chemicals sectors. Among a wide variety of applications, our hermetically-sealed turbo compressors featuring magnetic bearings and integrated electric motors serve as the core element of MAN’s industrial-scale ETES Heat Pump units, currently being installed in Esbjerg, Denmark. There, our climate-friendly Heat Pump solution is set to deliver heat to around 25,000 households, using renewable power from nearby wind farms and seawater as a heat source. Moreover, in Denmark’s Aalborg, three 44 MW MAN Heat Pumps will replace the city’s coal-fired plant, supplying 550,000 MWh of heat per year. This achievement marks a global milestone as it introduces the largest heat pump units ever installed in a district heating plant. Both projects will collectively slash CO2 emissions by an impressive 280,000 tons annually, emphasizing our commitment to move big things to zero.
